Potentiel du boson de Higgs et mesure des électrons avec l’expérience CMS au LHC

Ana Šćulac will present her research PhD work in the context of the CMS experiment at the LHC. She will discuss electron measurements and the topic of electron efficiency measurements and their uncertainties.
These uncertainties are among the main limitation to the precision of many measurements at CMS involving leptons. Her work lead to a large improvement in the efficiency measurement precision, which will become even more important in the next years with the higher luminosity at the LHC. She will also discuss her study for the measurement of HH production in CMS from the production of four weak bosons, in order to constrain the Higgs potential, which plays a central role for the electroweak phase transition in the early universe. This is part of many measurements that will be combined to improve the sensitivity, she added with her work an entirely new channel to those already studied at the LHC. Whereas the statistics is still low for the very small signal, this will contribute to the measurement of the Higgs self-coupling, one of the major topic in the field in the years to come.
