Option 2: Obtaining Source Code Distribution of GLAST Offline software

Note: GLAST Offline provides tarballs of the complete source for all checkout packages:  GlastRelease, EngineeringModel, and ScienceTools. Each version (tagged, HEAD, LATEST) is bundled and stored on an FTP site.

Prerequisites

  • Determine what checkout package or packages you wish to download and which version you are interested in.
  • Create a local directory to contain the source code, e.g., /glast/packages/GlastRelease/v6r5

To download your copy of source code:

  1. Connect to:

ftp://ftp-glast.slac.stanford.edu/glast.u05/srcDist/

  1. Users choose either Linux or Windows which ensures the text files use the correct form of carriage return for your operating system.
  1. Choose and download the source code distribution you are interested in.
  1. Unpack the file into your local directory.
  1. Start up MRvcmt.
  1. Configure your CMTPATH to point to the location where the source will be installed.  (See Setting up MRvcmt options.)

The CMTPATH is set correctly if your directory appears in the "Packages Tree".
