Early Z Boson Measurements at CMS in pp Collisions at 7 TeV
In 2010, CMS has recorded 40 pb-1 of LHC pp collision data at a center of mass energy of 7 TeV. CMS has identified thousands of Z boson candidates. In this presentation, I will describe a selected set of initial measurements of Z bosons decaying into di-leptons using CMS data collected in 2010 as well as possible or planned near-term measurements. The topics I will cover are inclusive and differential Z boson cross section measurements, forward-backward asymmetry, Z boson production associated with jets, and double parton scattering.
